Using CarAppraise

These terms describe the basis on which you may use CarAppraise to provide vehicle information for appraisal.

Last updated: 30 August 2026

About the service

CarAppraise provides a guided way to submit vehicle information, questionnaire answers, photographs and supporting evidence to an authorised dealership or vehicle buyer. The service may also help that business review the vehicle and prepare an offer.

CarAppraise does not guarantee that an appraisal will result in an offer or completed purchase. Submitting an appraisal does not oblige you to sell the vehicle.

Who may use it

You must be at least 18 and either own the vehicle, be its registered keeper, or have authority from the owner or keeper to provide the information and discuss its possible sale. You must not use another person's appraisal link without permission.

Your information and evidence

You must answer honestly and take reasonable care to provide accurate, current information. Photographs should show the actual vehicle and must not be misleadingly edited. You must have permission to upload every image or document you provide.

Avoid including unnecessary personal information. Where instructed, obscure the V5C document reference number and unnecessary address details. Contact the reviewing dealership if a submitted answer needs correcting.

Vehicle data and valuations

Vehicle details may come from you or third-party data sources and may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. You should confirm the displayed vehicle before continuing.

Any valuation, recommendation or estimate is indicative. It may depend on mileage, specification, condition, history, market evidence and a later physical inspection. It is not a binding offer unless the dealership or buyer clearly confirms otherwise in separate written offer terms.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • submit information you know is false or misleading;
  • upload unlawful, malicious or unrelated material;
  • attempt to access another seller's or dealership's data;
  • probe, disrupt or circumvent security controls; or
  • use the service for automated scraping or resale of its data.

Access may be suspended or removed where reasonably necessary to protect users, information or the service.

Availability

We aim to keep CarAppraise available and protect saved progress, but uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, network, storage or third-party data services may occasionally be unavailable. Follow any retry guidance shown and contact the dealership if a time-sensitive submission cannot be completed.

Intellectual property

CarAppraise's software, design and branding remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You retain any rights you have in your photographs and documents, while permitting their use as reasonably necessary to operate, review and retain the appraisal in accordance with the privacy notice.

Responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits your statutory consumer rights. CarAppraise is not responsible for a loss caused by inaccurate information supplied by a user, unauthorised sharing of a private appraisal link, or events outside reasonable control. A dealership or buyer remains responsible for its own valuation, offer and purchasing decision.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without preventing a consumer from relying on mandatory protections that apply where they live. We may update these terms where the service or legal requirements change; the current version will remain available here.
